Welcome to Whiteland Elementary's Physical Education page. My name is Coach Camp and this is my eighth year as the PE teacher here at WES. I grew up Indiana and earned my bachelor's degree from Ball State University, and my master's degree from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. I traveled around the country for many years teaching in several different states (KY, TN, GA, and CA), and was happy to be "HOME" again eight years ago. I have two daughters, a son, two grandsons, a granddaughter, and a very needy weimaraner (dog). One of my daughters lives in Hawaii with grandbabies, and my other two children live in Columbus.
I am looking forward to another exciting year here at Whiteland Elementary. Some activities/events for the year include:
* Running Club for 4th and 5th graders
* Cross Country Challenge at the high school
* Pumpkins in the Park Race in Franklin
* Jump Rope for Heart in February
* Cycling
* Beach Volleyball
* Dance
* Parachute
* Gymnastics
* Basketball
* 4-square

I am very passionate about physical fitness, which is one reason I love my job. I love teaching students about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. All students are encouraged to be physically active for at least 60 minutes everyday. Please help your child by emphasizing the importance of physical activity and healthy food choices. 3rd - 5th graders will log physical activity, set fitness goals, and learn about nutrition.
